non-narcoatic charge

my son was turning in pill he found on bus, cop at school watched him put it in sock, as it fell out of his nylon pants pocket...he is now charged w/poss. of non-narcotic. Hes on probation for jostling judge threw him in jail til hearing as he plead not guilty..he was turning pill into his special ed teacher! they tell him felony of 2 yrs....he was turning pill in so no other kids would find it ..he thought he was doin good! he was sp ed student graduated in may...hes 18 gonna be 19 in oct. his court appt lawyer said sorry 90 days? and left him!

What kind of plea bargain your son can work out depends on the facts of each case. I would assume the court-appointed lawyer is getting him the best deal possible, but you never know. If you have the money to retain a lawyer, I would suggest you contact me immediately to step in before he enters into a plea. Keep in mind there may be some facts that you don't know, and prosecutors, cops and judges deal with pill cases all the time, and may simply not believe your son, and there is nothing you can do about it, except ensure you have an aggressive lawyer to represent your son.
