Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Notice to Appear is charging me the WRONG crime

I am supposed to be charged with retail fraud in the 3rd degree as the items were totaling $46.00 and it was my first offense; the police officers even told me this. I attended my arraignment, awaited my pre-trail date by mail, and I received two now, both stating in my notice to appear that I'm being charged with retail fraud - second degree. What should I do? How can they make such an error? I'm very stressed out now.

Court clerks could have made a mistake. It is not thatr big of a deal, assuming you are a first offender. In any event, I can help you keep this off your permanent criminal record. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz

Don't panic.and miss your next court appearance.

Show up at your pretrial and advise the prosecutor of the problem.

If it's not corrected then, you can always ask for an adjournment or for time to get a lawyer.
