It probably means a pre-exam conference ... sort of a pre-triall conference before a felony preliminary examination where the prosecutor and defense attorney talk about possible plea bargaining, whether the case will go to a preliminary examination (probable cause hearing), etc.

It normally means Pre Exam Conference. This is an important event and your attorney must be well prepared for it.
