Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I have had an online relationship with a girl in a different state. We are both minors, she is 16, I am 17. We both acknowledge that we were in a relationship. We talked through webcam, and we both exposed ourselves over camera multiple times. Her mother found out about us and everything and is considering very seriously to press charges of Exposure to a Minor on me. I am wondering if this charge would stick, considering we are both under age, but both at the legal age to perform sexual activities (16), and we are in a relationship, and anything that happened was purely consensual. So does she have a case against me?
*and on a side note, if she was to press these charges, I would of course call for a trial by jury. Considering my completely clean record and the good record in my community and school and the situation of this, would a Jury be likely to convict me?

Juries are funny. I tell clients all the time - there is no way to know how 6 (or 12) people will decide. Information strikes people differently, and some people may think that what you did may fit the elements of the charged offense, but it would be silly to convict you of such things (meaning that while your actions maybe criminal, they do not reach the threshold of criminal activity to that person). The other people on the jury may feel differently. There is no guarantees when dealing with a jury. Your record is involved more heavily at sentencing than it is at trial.
