Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
What if.....
If I'm not able to pay the retaner fee for a lawyer,..and the police wants a statment,..and I have to ask for a court apointed lawyer,...what can the police do?,...put me in jail,..till a lawyer is avalable??

Re: What if.....
You are under no obligation to make any statement to the police or anyone else and I advise my clients not to say anything to anyone.
The court will appoint a lawyer at your arraignment if you request one. The only other statement you need make at your first appearance in court is "not guilty".
