Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Payment Stopped on Check for Work Performed
I repaired a vehicle at my automotive facility. The customer paid $520 down on the job in cash, and when picking up the vehicle wrote a check for $750 which he then stopped payment on. After speaking with him, he claimed he thought the work was done incorrectly, but after having it checked out seen it was fine. He said he would pay the remaining balance the next day, which he is still refusing to do. It has now become obvious he never took the vehicle to another garage to be checked out in the first place. What recourse do I have in this situation?
