Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

penalty

Good Morning,

I was charged with assault with intent to commit murder. A person stepped from behind a dumpster and started pulling at my clothes. At the time I was not wearing my glasses, and could not see the person was female. The prosecution added the included charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm. In the past I have had two operating under the influence charges. I was two weeks from being finished with my probation when this incident occured. What are the penalties for these charges? This is the first time charged with a felony. Should I expect jailtime? Thank you for taking the time to view my question.

Re: penalty

From the facts you've described, you have a fantastic chance of prevailing, in my opinion. Other questions remain: How badly injured was the "victim?" How many times, if any, did you strike her? Was this at night? Etc. No need for jail time if you are acquitted, of course. Sounds like you may need a good criminal defense attorney. Feel free to call me.
