when i performed a back ground check to m.s.p. through ichat, it showed a misdemeanor conviction disturbing the peace 750.170 will this keep me from getting a gov. job when potential employer does a background check on me

I don't know what the hiring requirements are or what will prevent you. However, if it has been over five years and you have no other criminal convictions, you can apply to have the conviction expunged.

Probably not. It's a relatively common misdemeanor which doesn't have fraud, drugs, sex, alcohol, or violence as a predicate.
It also depends on your age at conviction.
