Do I plead guilty or not guilty for shoplifting? I do not want any jail time so what do I do? I have nothing on my record, what should I do?

Plead not guilty and get a lawyer. If you can't afford one, request court appointed counsel.

Always plead not guilty. Even if you have no defenses there are ways to keep it off your record. Retain an experienced criminal defense lawyer to review your case and help you decide what your best options are.
