Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

poss of x with intent to dist

I will make it quick

I crashed my car with 500$ and 10 x pills in it. At the time of the accident I hid the pills not knowing where because of a concussion and let them toe the car to a lot. Next day I goto get my stuff from my busted car and it is nowhere to be found. I was with 2 friends and all the sudden the cops show up and arrest friend A. They tell me that someone tried to break into the lot that night and steal something so the police searched the cars.

While 2 weeks later some undercovers show up at my house with the drugs and cash and say they are gonna throw me in jail if I dont work for them so I say ok. I have got 1 conviction for them but they are impatient and now filing the charges.

What should I do? Should I hire the best attorney I can afford.

I am looking to avoid jail and prison at all costs. I have already started to clean up my act. aka moved back into parents place, attend AA regularly 3-4 times a week not court ordered. I am on probation for DUI. I have a previous poss of marijuana charge in a diff county. I have a disturbing the peace in the county where this X charge is.

Should i be gettings letters from friends and employers stating what kind of person I am? What next?
