Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Possession of fake identification

Couple years my brother was caught on a gun charge and with a fake id for which he sevred his time. Now they have come back to say that the fake id was a seperate case even though this was all 1 event and already had him in custody and I need to turn hisself in. What can they do about the id case? Can they come back years later to charge him with this or will they have run it time served with the other charge

Re: Possession of fake identification

If the fake iD appeared in the police report along with the CCW, he should have been charged with both and served his time concurrently. If the gun was used in the commission of a crime, he serves the gun charge time consecutively (usually before) he serves the time for the crime itself.
