Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

possession marijuana

after auto accident where I was taken to hospital with serious injuries, officer had taken my purse when I was being treated in ER without my knowledge, and search through the entire contents of my purse (items moved around) and found a small quantity of marijuana in a sealed envelope secluded inside my purse (note:wallet with drivers lic was right on top when purse was opened) & nobody asked me for anything inside my purse during my periods of consciousness so I am not sure how the officer got my purse to go through it. He also opened the sealed envelope to find it. WAS THIS A LEGAL SEARCH & FIND ?
