Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I asking for asking for someone else was on probation for a felony in Detroit it was almost over just still owed money on the probation but couldn't pay as its hard for felons to find jobs in Michigan he got pulled over in Dearborn for driving without license n marijuana in the car although the marijuana was not on his person and was on the passenger side of the car he pleaded guilty of possession and they put him on probation to pay the fines so now this violates his probation in Detroit what are his options because he is the primary care giver of his elderly uncle and if he goes to jail that would put his uncle out as well as his family there is not a lot of assistance out here for a felon to try to stay on the right track just wondering what his options are
