I'm on probation for 5 years for utterring and publishing. It's been 3 years now I found out that I have a felony warrant for forgery that happen the same time during my first case from three years ago.Is it possible that a detective can do double jeapardy? What is the statue of limitation for the state of Michigan for forgery of checks?

Those 2 charges are not necessarily double jeopardy - it depends on the specific facts of your case. The charge of uttering and publishing can mean you bounced a check, or attempted to cash a forged or fraudulent check, whereas forgery means you forged a signature on the check, or another instrument.

You said that the forgery happened at the same time - do you mean both charges stem from the same crime, or do they stem from separate actions? If the same crime, it is odd that all charges were not resolved at once, as that is the normal and proper procedure. Did you have a lawyer and/or a public defender? That is the first place you should start, is with your lawyer, who knows the facts of your case. Also speak with your probation officer, even if you are no longer on reporting probation. The situation you've described doesn't quite make sense, which means that material facts have been omitted. You need to retain a lawyer to investigate the situation and provide you with a thorough opinion as to your rights and remedies regarding this situation.
