Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Prosecutors response?
Why would a prosecuting attorney file an objection to a motion filed from a defendant asking for help (court ordered AA, psychiatric help, etc. This defendant is on work release and ASKING to do it on their own? Is that standard?

It's not standard, but I've seen it done. Probationary matters are usually handled by the Judges and thier probation officers. Ordinarily, Prosecutors don't get involved after the date of sentence, unless its an appeal or motion for resentencing, etc... Also, it depends on which Court and which Judge.
