Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

protection from the victim

Someone I know was charged with a misdeameanor, for destruction of property, they paid the fine, but now the victim in that case is falsely accusing this person I know is harassing her. My friend is not even in touch or even in remote contact with her. My friend is very afraid that the girl will get her in trouble, what kind of protection does my friend have? Who should she go to? Her probation officer believes her (my friend) but my friend is still worried.

Your friend should get back in touch with her lawyer.

Your friend should also keep a diary on her that establishes where she was and who she was with every hour of the day. She can get a good diary at Staples and just keep it with her. Usually in a Month or so this stuff ends but if it doesn't she may need to take other steps. Her lawyer can do wonders for her in this regard.

Good luck.
