You will need to hire a Michigan attorney to represent you. If you ignore it, a warrant will be issued for your arrest and because it is a felony, it is likely that you could be arrested in any other state and potentially extradited back to Michigan. Warrants do not go away. You could be stopped for a minor traffic offense years down the road with your family in the car and could be taken to jail. Look for a Criminal Defense attorney in the area that it occurred (the county where the court is). I hope this helps a little. Good Luck!
