Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I was pulled over. I had a traffic ticket warrent out but didnt know and the police asked me if i could sit in their car till everything was figured out. I was not told i was under arrest or mirandize. They went threw my whole care found nothing then grabed my purse opened it and searched it. I said you can not search my purse or car without my attorney.the cop replied thats an odd thing to say. They continued the search found 2 pills that were not mine. They still did not put handcuffs on me took me to jail without arresting me or mirandizing me. Is the search of my purse legal?And if its not legal what should i do?
