Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

What to do?

I have a question about what to do, I know someone that is being held under custody for a crime and is pleading insanity and was told that they had to do a psych evaluation. They were told that the ''System'' had 60 days to get it done and it takes almost 2 weeks to do, well, the 60 days are up and no evaluation was ever done. Can they ''Fight'' this for not getting this stuff done yet when the court date is in 1 month. They feel as though this is being pushed off and they wont get a proper diganosis if they are rushed through. Plus they feel that their lawyer is not telling them everything, like the lawyer is ''holding'' information from them. They feel like they are not getting adequate representation. What do they do about it?
