question
Best and worst case scenario for conviction on an embezzlement charge?

Re: question
Best case scenario: You're smart enough to hire a firm that has beat embezzlement charges at trial. Read more about our firm at:

Worst case scenario: You go to prison.
Re: question
Your worst case scenario is you can go to jail/prison. Best case scenario, the prosecutor can't prove its case and your case is dismissed.

Re: question - embezzlement
Those "Hire ME!" answers are meaningless. Sorry you got one of them.
Unfortunately, your question cannot be answered right now because you did not tell us ANYTHING about:
* the actual charge (felony or misdemeanor ... since there are 4 levels of Embezzlement);
* detailed case facts, including the amount stolen or there was a vulnerable victim like a charity or the elderly (for obvious reasons);
* full criminal history of the defendant (because they factor heavily into the sentencing guidelines calculations if this is a felony charge);
* county where the case is being prosecuted (because plea- or sentence-bargain tendencies change between counties);
* judge who will handle the sentencing (because some judges have sentencing tendencies that play into this);
* personal background of the defendant, including age (because some of these factor into whether a resolution can be worked out that ultimately results in the charge being dismissed after a probation period);
* etc.
All of these factors -- and more -- have to be weighed before any criminal defense attorney can even begin to assess whether you have a factual defense to the charge, hazard a guess as to a likely sentencing range, etc. So, if you GET a detailed answer from a lawyer who does not have all of this information, BEWARE.
