Another question about yta staus

I hate to disagree with my colleague, but the Department of Defense (army, navy, air force, marines) does have access to non-public HYTA records for specific purposes. Included among those purposes is screening potential enlistees.
There is hope...the Coast Guard, being a part of Homeland Security, does not have access to non-public HYTA records.

Unfortunately for you, Mr. Miller is correct. Also your conviction will be revealed to any police agency for which you seek employment and likewise to certain agencies of the federal government.
Re: Another question about yta staus
To get HYTA status, you have to enter a plea, but a conviction/adjudication was never entered because you were put on HYTA status and then successfully completed the probation terms. The court then dismissed the case in its entirety. (If you had 'flunked' probation, the court could have then formally entered a conviction and you THEN would have had a conviction on your record.)
Only police, prosecutors and the courts will have information about your prior case and the fact that you received HYTA status. Why? In case you get another charge and try for HYTA again.
The public (including the military) would not be able to 'see' your old case on your record.
Be careful when you anwer questions on applications. Some ask if you have ever been 'convicted' (Answer: No.) ... others ask if you have ever been 'charged' (Answer: Yes.).
