Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I was recently arrested for recieving stolen property and loitering where drugs are used and sold. I am a first time offender. I'm 27. The goods were less than 200 and its two misdemeanors. I understand the maximum penalties but I was wondering about my likelyhood of receiving some kind of advisement probation as I have a good career. It would jeopardize my future career promotions to move forward. Basically I gave a girl I barely knew a ride for gas money because I was on E and needed money for the week. Turns out the stuff she had when she got in the car was stolen and she went into another store and stole some baby formula. All the while I'm sitting in the car outside thinking nothing. She had drugs in her purse so they got me for the loitering. They also seized my car. I know I can't afford a great attorney to get my charges dismissed because the cops twisted my words around... I'm just really hoping to get probation and have this off my record. Is it likely?
