Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
We recently hosted a grad party for our son. At some point the police were called and we allowed them of course. They said that the minors were drinking, yet there was no alcohol on premises. They gave each kid a breathalizer and those that were drinking were giving an MIP. We just found out that we are now being arraigned for providing alcohol to minors. We did NOT provide any alcohol to any of them. Those we found were drinking, and all others...since we couldn't prove if they had or not, were told they HAD to stay at our home and we took all keys...this is before the police even came. In fact the police had to wake many of them up to question them! So my question is this...what should we expect to happen at the arraignment? And what can happen to us? We live in a very small town and are very well respected and work hard, plus have 2 young daughters. We are worried.
