Do I have a right to record my conversations with my own court appointed lawyer?

I agree with the other answer. If you mistrust this lawyer to such a degree that you feel the need to record conversations- get a new lawyer. Not sure about a "right" to record- that might have some implications regarding keeping the conversations proviledged. Bottom line, get a lawyer that you can trust.

Michigan is a "one-party" state ... meaning that one person to a conversation must know that the conversation is being recorded and must consent to the recording happening. Other states require everyone in the conversation to know about it and be ok with it. So, you would not be committing a crime if you recorded your own conversation. I do not express any opinion on the wisdom of your plan.
