Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

How to remove a felony charge from a record?

Worked for a rail road, 24 years ago. He was convicted of a felony (stealing) served 2 years probation, paid $100.00 and $60.00 for something else (court cost maybe)he was 23 years old at the time and the court used some youth act. I would like to know if it is possible to get this removed from his record?

It may be possible to expunge the record. You would have to meet several requirements to be eligible for expungement. If you are eligible then you can file a motion with the court and request expungement. It is then in the discretion of the Judge to approve or deny the motion. If you were sentenced under a special provision of the law affording youthful status and successfully completed the terms of probation it would seen that you may be eligible for the retuen of your fingerprints and arrest record. Before a more definitive answer can be given I would have to review the court record. You should consider retaining an attorney to assist you in this matter. Good luck.
