Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Reply
I submitted a question yesterday and can't believe the answer. ''Start by hiring an experienced attorney'' no shit! Your site and attorenys were no help.
1 Answer from Attorneys
Re: Reply
I agree with you. An attorney's smart-assed reply like that (which I see from one attorney all too often) serves no purpose ... and is a DIS-service to the folks who are looking for guidance and information. Likewise, I see too many "hire me!" replies, or replies that essentially say "hire my law partner".
Try re-posting your question with as many facts as the space will allow (and in the correct State and law topic that covers your question) ... and include that you are re-posting it because the last reply just said "hire an experienced attorney (duh!)". Hopefully that'll clue all the attorneys in to the reality that you need better substantive help than that.
Don't give up on this site and the help it can provide. We can't guarantee that we'll fully answer your questions because we don't have the benefit of having a back-and-forth dialog, reviewing police reports or other documents that help explain all the case facts, etc. Also, we're not creating an attorney-client relationship here (and I have to be doubly careful because I am not in private proactice; I am an assistant prosecutor). Therefore, we have to reply as generically as possible.
What's the old saying? Oh yeah: you get what you pay for! ;-)
