Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Retail Fraud First Offence Third Degree
I was arested at a department store yesterday for stealing $174 worth of jewlery. I signed a bunch of papers with the Loss Prevention Department and then the officer took me to jail (fingerprints, mugshot, holding cell, etc.) I was released on a $200 bond. I posted bond. This is my first offence for retail fraud but I have a ''disorderly persons'' that I am still on probation for just one more month- in a different city. Since I now have two cases at two different court houses do you think it is possible that I finish out the first probation for disorderly persons with out tellling my p.o. about the new arrest? If I can get an attorney to push my first court date for the retail fraud just past the ending date of my other probation, do you think I could keep the two cases seperate due to the dates and timing of all this.
My retail fraud court date is January 23rd and I end my first probation on Febuary 19th. I know I am suppose to tell my p.o. about new arrests or tickets but if I can should I keep it from her and try to finish out the probation before going to court for a new charge?

that would be my plan exactly. Adjourn the new case until probation is completed. You will need skilled local counsel to pull off this maneuver. In metro Detroit, contact me to discuss options. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz

Your arrest is already in the LEIN which is accessible by your probation officer.
If she catches you lying, you violate.
