Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Retail Fruad 3

I'm 18 years old and no priors.

I was caught stealing makeup at a local walmart.

I was arrested and given a ticket for retail fraud 3.

I can't afford an attourney.

Should I plead guilty and ask for HYTA? Or how does asking for HYTA work?

I'm really not familiar with the process or what to answer questions with.

You can't afford to not get a lawyer to help you through this problem. Being labeled as a thief could effect you for the rest of your life. You're too young to get stuck with a criminal record. Find a way to hire an attorney! Even if you get stuck having to settle for a court appointed attorney, that will probably be better than not having any lawyer at all.
