Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

retail theft

I am 24 years old and was recently caught shoplifting from walmart, i think the amount was around $300. this is my first offense and truly the first and only time that i have ever attempted this and will never ever again! i have never been in trouble before because im really a good responsible person that made a HUGE MISTAKE, and i dont even know why i tried this. i am more ashamed and embarassed than anything! i am going to school to be a nurse one day and i really dont want anyone to find this out. what can I do or should i do? or what can be done? is it possible to get it dropped or removed from my record? i will do anything!!! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!?! Im terrified. thank you.

-Sincerely sorry and ashamed
