what if an officer arrests you and doesnt read you your rights? Can i still be charged?

Yes. the officer is not required to read you your rights UNLESS you have been arrested for committing a crime AND he then starts questioning you about your involvement in the crime. If he does, any evidence that comes from that questioning cannot be introduced at a trail - but you can still be charged.
Very few arrests result in a trial.

The police / prosecutor can charge anybody with anything. Proving that you did committ a crime is very different than being charged. Our defense team has successfully challenged evidence and statements that were obtained in violation of Miranda. Feel free to read more at:
