dont police need a warent befor walking into someones house with out asking??

Depends on whether they are on duty or off duty. If you invite them in, they don't need a warrant. If something illegal is going on in plain sight (or smell), they don't need a warrant. If someone is attempting to flee through your house, they don't need a warrant.
Otherwise, they need a warrant, BUT that just means that if they find evidence it is likely to be challenged in court...it doesn't necessarily mean that they won't do it.
Whether they do it or not, more than likely, will depend upon their judgment of the stink that you will raise in court. So, if your rights are violated, make sure the court knows or that it is noted in the official record.
