Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Shoplifting
I am 17 years old and I recently got caught shoplifing. It was for a little over 100 dollars. This is my first offense. I have never been in trouble before. I have a daughter and I go to school and got good grades. The officer let me go with a ticket and I have court. My judge is Mark W Somers, If you know him,Is he a fair judge. Or is he not so fair?????What will happen. Will I go to jail??Please help

I know Judge Somer well. He's fair and you can likely apply for the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act (HYTA) and get no jail time. You will have probation, court costs, and other fines, however.
