Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
speedy trial regulations
My question concerns the 6th amendment . I was picked up on a warrant and put in jail for 180 days un-sentanced . At wich time I filed for a PR bond , it was granted do to the fact that the state can not hold an unsentanced man any longer than 180 days . It will be 7 1/2 months before I evan select a jury . I have not filed any continuences by any means . Do I have grounds for dismissle .(under due process articles) . Please help me , I fear my court appointed attorny values his friendship with the prosecuter more than my freedom .

Re: speedy trial regulations
You got a PR bond, which you were entitled to. Now, trial does not have to occur as quickly.
