Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My step father cosigned student loans for me from 2003 to as late as 2009. Now several years later after he's filed police reports and fraud complaints! I am behind on my payments but prior to me being behind he helped make payment, once my mother passsed away and he remarried this is the end result! Can he really file fraud even though he was aware of the loans as he has helped with payments? These loans are far from new! please help me understand I didn't do any wrong except get behind!

Certainly he can file a police report. That's very different than the police or the prosecutor charging you with a crime. If he files a false police report, he could be prosecuted for doing that. If you are contacted by the police about this, have an attorney present BEFORE your have discussion with the cops. You should read more at:
