Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Sticky Fingers works for Hewlett Packard. He is assigned a lap top to use at home when he is "on call." He likes it so much, he decides to keep it forever for himself after he is required to turn it back in to the company. His girlfriend, D.D. (short for Dishonest Darla), convinces him to slip back into the warehouse on his lunch and "smuggle" 50 laptops into her car so she can sell the "Hot" computers on the black market. What crimes have been committed and why?

I thought the same thing as the first responder. But I'll still give you my thoughts on the array of possible crimes. S.F.could be charged with Larceny by Conversion or Embezzlement regarding the original laptop, but without knowing its value I can't say if it would be a misdemeanor or felony; Larceny in a Building or Larceny $1,000-$19,999 or Larceny $20,000 or More (again, depending on the value of the 50 laptop); and/or Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Building or Larceny $1,000-$19,999 or Larceny $20,000 or More. D.D. could be charged as an aider/abettor with Larceny in a Building or Larceny $1,000-$19,999 or Larceny $20,000 or More (again, depending on the value of the 50 laptop); and/or as a principal with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Building or Larceny $1,000-$19,999 or Larceny $20,000 or More. Those come to mind, but it's possible other charges fit, depending on the facts that your teacher ... er ... you didn't give us.
