Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

stolen property

I am a realtor and my clients moved out of state and they are going into foreclosure. They left their washer and dryer and I removed it because they were never coming back and I did not want the bank clean out guys to get it. I sold them for $350 and then the client forgot something and came back and noticed them missing and called police. The police want me to come in and make a statement. What should I do?

Re: stolen property

You may want to have a lawyer talk to the police instead of you talking to the police. When do they want you to give a statement?

Re: stolen property

First, pay your clients $350.

Second, consider some occupation other than real estate broker.

Third, don't talk to the police. Their only interest is to charge you. If they persist, get a lawyer.
