Can you sue a franchise owner or the franchise in if you're assaulted/ robbed inside their store?

You posted this question in the "criminal law" section, but your question really has to do with "civil law" (tort liability, premises liability of a business, etc.). You should repost your question in another LawGuru section that covers those topics. The lawyers who sign up to answer questions do so for specific areas that they specialize in. You'll have a better chance for an answer when you post it in the right section. The assault against you was a criminal act, but your question wasn't about criminal prosecution; it was about suing someone, which is not a criminal issue.
