Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

how do I suppress evidence

I am currently preparing to defend myself in a case, as I can not afford an attorney, although I do work I do not have the extra money to hire one. My main problem is that I really dont know how to go about getting the evidence against me suppressed. How do I go about getting this done? Do I need to fill out any forms or documents? Any help would be grateful. Thanks

Re: how do I suppress evidence

You need legal assistance for this task. Suppressing evidence is extremely difficult, and I highly recommend that you ask for a court-appointed attorney. The process involves filing a motion and asking for a hearing. You are probably not familiar with criminal procedure, rules of evidence, and filing procedures. Not to mention that you need some knowledge about the judge in your case. The court must appoint an attorney for you if there is a possibility that you may do jail time. Good luck!
