Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Suspecting foul play in housing

I was eagerly planning to purchase a $30,000 home that had been on the market for few days. The people who lived in there were recently evicted meaning the house was foreclosed. The house was in a perfect condition and I was fascinated how clean it was. However, one day recently, I wanted to buy it only to find out that it had been partly burnt over the night before and arson is the primary culprit. Is it possible that the people who lived in there before wanted the house back and partly burned it so they can get it back at a fraction of the market price? If so, what legal action can I take to prove my suspicions?

Nothing. This has nothing to do with you, for you are neither a victim of the arson, nor a suspect. The police will do their job and the culprits will be brought to justice. I see no private cause of action here. You could still probably buy it from the bank, as they are the owner of the property. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
