Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
talking to a detective
my boyfriend is going through a criminal case right now and he's going to trial in a month. a detective called me and wants to talk to me. Do i have to talk to him? im not being used as a wittness on the case. and its not an ongoing investigation since he already has a trial coming up.? right

I can't think of any reason why you would be required to speak to the police.

You don't have to talk to him but, depending on the circumstances that only you know, you might want to listen to what he has to say.
If you do talk to him, tell the truth or don't say anything. Lying can lead to your arrest.
