Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Tether program
I live in Michigan, last year 2000 i was sentenced to 15 days in jail and 60 days on a alcohol tether for my second DWLS. I also have a past history of 3 OUIL's,wrong license plate, and no insurance on car, which I already served my time for. My soon to be Ex-Husband is currently in jail for 2 domestic violence cases one brought upon him by me and another from his ex-girlfriend. Well when I was on my alcohol tether he constantly abused me, one day i decided to leave I didn't get him arrested for domestic violence instead I just ran. Now I heard that I'm facing 2-5 years now. I had 42 left on my tether, so is that true? What if I have tons of evidence of his abuse, would that help my case any. I also have an 4 month old son, and had to flee his dad and England to get away from him, he followed me now he is in jail. sorry if this sounds confusing. Sincerely Tracy

Re: Tether program
My advice is to call your probation officer and let him/her know about your situation. See if you can both agree that you will get a personal bond at your arraignment on the bench warrant.
Your best bet is to turn yourself in. Do not bring your child to your arraignment if you can get proper care for him.
