Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

theft under 5000

I am Canadian my girlfriend supposedly has charged me with theft under 5000 how can i know if this is for real I don't want to cross border without lawyer advice in case I am arrested is there a way to know this before border cross and if charge exist what is next step to clear this up and address the issue with an attorney

It sounds like you have a charge in Canada and that you are a Canadian citizen or resident. You should contact a lawyer in the city where the charge was instituted. If it is in Windsor or the surrounding area, you can call me.

If you call the district (lowest) court at your girlfiend's location and ask for the criminal clerk, you'll find out if you are being charged and be given further information.

Once you do, you'd better get a lawyer.
