When it us used as a weapon. Everything here would likely be legal conduct. If you witness actual unwanted physical contact, that is assault and a crime. Kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz

Sounds like your sister is a victim of domestic violence, which is a crime. She should file a police report. And, she should call 911 the next time he hits her or is in fear of him hitting her.

Anytime you ask the police to intervene in your sister's relationship with her boyfriend, you will be punished in one way or another.

Your sister may want you to butt out because she has come to the realization that she faces a great deal more hardship if her boyfriend is convicted of domestic violence (jail time @ $65/day, costs of relocation to another dwelling, job loss, loss of support, fines costs, child custody issues, legal fees).

I assume you're willing to support your sister financially and have her come live with you now that you seem to want to take responsibility for her life. Think your intentions all the way through. It appears she hasn't been injured or your post would have mentioned it.

Her boyfriend's conduct may not feel like fun to you, but, unless your sister is mentally ill, I'd stay out of it.
