Under-age driving with or without permission?

My 14 year old friend ''borrowed'' my car and got into an accident. We agreed if she got caught then she ''stole'' the car. I told police at the time she stole the car, she went to court, but they didn't convict her of anything. After getting sued, she changed her mind and stated I gave her permission. Is it a lye to say she stole the car if that was the agreement? Will charges be brought for theft if I don't press charges?
