Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
An unknown customer, Steven, walks in and suddenly takes out a gun. Steven directs Karen to take him to the back of the store where the safe is kept. As they are walking back, Karen pulls out her own gun and fires twice. The first shot hits Steven in the chest and he dies instantly. The second gunshot misses Steven and hits Mark, an 11-year-old boy, who had been playing video games in the store. Mark is pronounced dead at the hospital.
