Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

warrent search of private dwelling

Police show up with warrent to search for a stolen computor. The warrent also states they may search for any clothing that might be used in a break in. The suspect was the 19 year old son who lived in the basement of the house. The mother is detained outside the house for 10 minutes, while the police go inside to see if the house is ''safe''. The mother and daughter were the only ones home at the time. The, the mother and daughter are detained in one room with a police officer, while they search the entire house, going through everyone's clothes and drawers. One officer leaves the house, comes back, then says that they discovered the stolen lap top in the basement. Any comments on the legality of the search proceedure?
