Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

i was18 yrs old and i got put in jail for 60 day for joyriding cnt-1 mcl 750.414 misdemeanor and then i got 18 days in jail for unlawful driving away a vehicle felony cnt-1 mcl 750.413 im 48 yrs old now and have not been in any trouble since. my dad willed me 2 pistols a friend told my that because i have a felony i cant own them is that true? i was a kid i messed up but i learnd form my mistakes it been 30 yrs im a good preson now i dont think it right to have to pay for that for the rest of my life. can i get that takin of my record or dose it stay with me please help me thank you very much Doug

If you have more than one criminal conviction (which you seem to have: Joyriding plus UDAA) then you cannot set aside either conviction under current Michigan law. So you would not be able to "get that takin off my record".
