Re: weed

Your "time" depends on the actual charges for which you are convicted, your prior record, etc. An experienced, aggressive attorney can be helpful. Read more at:

These acts could lead to SERIOUS criminal charges (most likely multiple felonies). You shouldn't be shopping around on the internet for an answer. Hire a good criminal defense attorney in your area! (I can't be hired, so I'm not soliciting your business.)

Unfortunately, your question is very hard to answer right now because you did not tell us very much about:

* the actual charges (I'll discuss these more below);

* detailed case facts (although you at least gave us the high points);

* full criminal history of the defendant (because they factor heavily into the sentencing guidelines calculations if this is a felony charge);

* county where the case is being prosecuted (because plea- or sentence-bargain tendencies change between counties);

* judge who will handle the sentencing (because some judges have sentencing tendencies that play into this);

* personal background of the defendant, including age (because some of these factor into whether a resolution can be worked out that ultimately results in the charge being dismissed after a probation period ... although this will be next-to-impossible when the case involves drugs, guns, and shooting at a cop);

* etc.

All of these factors -- and more -- have to be weighed before any criminal defense attorney can even begin to assess whether you have a factual defense to the charge, hazard a guess as to a likely sentencing range, etc. So, if you GET a detailed answer from a lawyer who does not have all of this information, BEWARE.

Possible charges?

* Felony Firearm (mandatory 2 years in prison consecutive to and served before time for any connected crimes is served);

And these connected crimes could include:

* Assault With Intent to Murder (Life in prison or any term of years), or Attempted Murder, or Assault With Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder (up to 10 yrs or $5,000 fine), or Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (up to 4 years and/or $2,000 fine)

* Resisting/Obstructing Police (up to 2 years and/or $2,000 fine if no serious injury ... up to 4 yrs and/or $5,000 if serious injury)

* Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver (several felony levels depending on the actual amount of drugs, but probably no less than a Felony with up to 7 years and/or $500,000 fine)

* Etc.

If you have prior felony convictions, the maximum prison time for all of the 'connected crimes' I listed could be even HIGHER, if the prosecutor hits you with Habitual Offender notices.
