Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Can I withdraw guilty plea in misdemeanor charges before sentencing
Can I withdraw my guilty plea? I have not been sentenced and I don't reapper in court for 2 months. I plead guilty to 2 misdemeanor utter & publish charges.
I unknowingly helped a freind cash 2 bogus checks made out to me, but for his use with no cash going to me. I thought at the time a guilty plea would be the easiest way for me to get this over with since these were misdemeanor charges and thought I could not prove I had cashed the checks not knowing they were bogus.
But now I am thinking that was not a wise thing to do as the ''freind'' after talking with him claims I did this on my own and he is claiming no knowledge. I have another witness that knows what actually happened as he was present when the checks were cashed and even used his account to deposit one of the checks. He is willing to support me in court as witness if needed.
Please advise- thnks.
