Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Wrongly accused/ What are charges for larceny
I have a friend who is 17 and is on probation. Recently his father who he doesn't live with accused and filed charges against him for breaking into his garage and taking property valued up to $1500.00. His father was driving around about a week after the incident saw his son and he and a friend of his tackled the 17 year old down held him down and duct tapes his hands and feet together and threw him into his car belly down. They took him to the fathers home and called the police. A week later he filed charges against him. I was wondering what he could be charged with and what kind of sentencing he could face.
I don't know much about the law but I think the charge would be larceny. The 17 year old is innocent. I am just worried they will take the father's word over the kids. Please help

Re: Wrongly accused/ What are charges for larceny
Your friend could be charged with breaking and entering, larceny, or a few other less serious crimes. It sounds like your friend could be charged with a felony. If he is innocent he needs an attorney that will fight for him and not just plead him to the crime. Call me to discuss the matter further. (248) 737-7000 or (800) LAW-6685.
